From Dubai to Cuba and many places in between, Ruth has performed with a variety of bands and artists: pop, rock, funk & soul; Buddy Holly and Abba, Joan Jett and Joni Mitchell, Blondie, Pink, Queen, Handel and Mozart! As well as being a published song writer, she has performed on other artists' recordings and shows, and in theatre, but the one constant over the years of a varied music journey has always been fronting GREAT fun-time party bands in London and the South West. Tweaks in Torbay, The Riverview in Bristol and The Hard Place Band in Okehampton are examples. Basically, there's nothing that can quite beat getting brilliant local pubs and venues shaking with the people dancing like cats on a hot tin roof!
John is an experienced drummer who has been performing all over the South West playing pubs, clubs, conference centres and holiday parks. Over the last 10 years he has played for 'FAB' - a 60's band and a party band with Ruth called 'The Tweaks'. He has depped for various bands from a ten piece Soul band to Rock and Funk bands.
I'm Martin, originally from Croydon where I cut my teeth on the London Circuit, playing original material with some great bands, in fantastic venues. As I matured, I moved to Kent where I made a name for myself playing with busy local bands and found myself to be in demand as a dep, as well as gigging for a Britain's Got Talent finalist. Family circumstances brought me to Devon in 2015. I was a founding member of a successful trio band, where I gained further experience with a more professional outlook. I love that Devon has a tremendous live music scene, and with Hot Tin Ruth you can expect great sounds! I have worked hard at building a good rapport with the owners and their staff at varying establishments throughout the county, some have become personal friends over the years. I'm also lucky enough to have you as a "following", massive thank you for that. I love playing my bass guitars and hope to see you at one of our gigs soon. Martin 😎
Jon has played guitar in various bands and duos throughout Devon and London. He has always had an interest in the technical aspects of music and guitar, drawing inspiration from guitarists such as The Edge of U2, Francis Dunnery of It Bites and David Rhodes from the Peter Gabriel band. He has a keen interest in sound engineering and can often be found working in his home studio in Newton Abbot.
